Caregivers, your child is welcome in the Church! We expect their movement and sounds during worship, and we are here to support you as you nurture their faith. A few things to know:
- If they need a break, the gathering space and unstaffed nursery outside the sanctuary are available.
- They are invited to join us up front during the children’s message.
- They can participate in the penny collection after the message. An usher will have a piece of candy for them at the back afterwards.
- If you want them to receive Communion, let us know when you come forward, and we are happy to serve them.
- We provide children’s bulletins and soft toys for them, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, and quiet toys into the sanctuary.
- Some caregivers prefer to sit in the side wings or towards the back of the sanctuary. You are welcome to sit wherever you feel comfortable.
- Please inform us if there are any specific needs to help make your child feel more welcome and included.
For those without young children in worship, children can sometimes be distracting. Keep in mind:
- Sitting further forward can help you see and hear better.
- Giving “looks” or making comments is not helpful.
- When a child is distracting, please:
- Appreciate having children in the church.
- Support the caregivers who are prioritizing their child's faith.
- Encourage caregivers, especially on challenging days.
- Encourage the child, particularly on good days.
