Youth at Resurrection: A Place to Belong
The youth are given ownership in what they are and what they do. Every fall the group gathers to rewrite their mission statement, and their concerns and interests inform the topics we discuss, the events we hold, and the destination of each year’s service trip.
Our youth group is made up of awesome 6th–12th graders from a variety of schools—and we’re always excited to welcome new faces! Whether you’re brand new or just checking things out, you’ll find a place here. Friends are always welcome, and many of our members love bringing guests along to hangouts, service projects, retreats, and summer adventures. You do not have to be a member of Resurrection to be an active part of this or any group.
We’re more than just a group—we’re a community. We show up for each other’s games, concerts, performances, and club events, cheering each other on and celebrating together. We stay connected through all kinds of platforms, so youth and parents can communicate in whatever way works best for them.
What We Do
We usually meet on Sundays from 11-1PM, but sometimes we switch things up depending on what’s planned. Each week looks a little different but usually consists of three essential parts:
In addition to our regular gatherings the youth also plan retreats and service trips. Both provide a way to step out of our everyday worlds to experience life from a different perspective. Retreats focus more on reflecting on our faith, community building, and having fun. The service trips provide an extended time of community and service. Both are wonderful opportunities for our youth to grow in their faith, identity, and values.
Our Culture
At Resurrection, we believe in lifting each other up. We create a space where everyone is treated with respect, kindness, and love—even when we don’t see eye to eye. Every year, our youth craft a mission statement, and help shape the calendar by choosing the outings, meals, service projects, devotions, and trips they’re most excited about. It’s their group, and their voices matter.
Come as you are. Bring your energy, your questions, your talents—and find a place where you’re known, valued, and loved.
